Up to 16,000 homes could be created from above the shop and vacant spaces in Dublin

(WESTERN PEOPLE; 15 May 2026)–Up to 16,000 homes could be created from empty commercial buildings and above-the-shop spaces in Dublin city, according to a report commissioned by Dublin City Council.

Dublin’s climate action targets will not be met if housing and commercial buildings are continually demolished rather than reused, says the report from environmental researchers at the Centre for Public Impact and TransCap Initiative.

The village still matters but it’s becoming rarer

Launching the AI Opportunity Initiative for Europe

(GOOGLE; 12 February 2024)–Our AI Opportunity Fund: Europe, in partnership with the Centre for Public Impact, is seeking applications from social enterprises and nonprofits who can help us reach those people most likely to benefit from this training. Selected organisations will receive bespoke and facilitated training on foundational AI in local languages delivered directly to the workers in their communities and cash grants for critical wraparound support.

$20 million to support teens’ digital wellbeing worldwide

(YOUTUBE; 11 March 2026)–To reach teens where they are, we are partnering with Google.org and The Centre for Public Impact to have YouTube creators bring this message to their audiences – using the formats and language teens actually engage with.

We are also bringing this curriculum to life through a global network of expert nonprofits — including Young Futures (U.S.), Plan International (APAC), and the Centre for Public Impact (Europe).
