Gender equity is essential for building a just and thriving society. When systemic barriers are dismantled and equal opportunities are promoted, everyone benefits – from individuals to entire communities. At the Centre for Public Impact, we are committed to driving change through innovative, inclusive, and evidence-based initiatives. By challenging gender norms, uplifting marginalized voices, and co-creating solutions with communities, we aim to shape a future where everyone has equal access to opportunities and can thrive.

On November 25, 2024, we joined together for a live broadcast on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, an event dedicated to raising awareness, inspiring action, and mobilising resources to end gender-based violence worldwide.
Organised by NO MORE in partnership with Peace One Day and supported by the Centre for Public Impact and AVON, this broadcast featured powerful discussions, survivor stories, and creative performances, engaging a global audience of policymakers, activists, corporate leaders, and the general public.
CPI works with the SAVES Center, providing technical training and assistance to thirteen demonstration sites across the United States. The SAVES Center is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and seeks to provide research, training, technical assistance, policy direction, and collaboration guidance to increase safe access to child support, parenting time, and establishment of parentage services for survivors of domestic violence.
At the Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society 2024, CPI’s Executive Director Pierre Berastain addressed the urgent need to redefine harmful norms of masculinity. The discussion focused on shifting towards compassionate and inclusive expressions of manhood, tackling issues like mental health challenges, social isolation, and gender-based violence. By challenging traditional gender roles, the session emphasised fostering a culture rooted in empathy, connection, and shared caregiving responsibilities.
Data for Equity empowers city leaders to use data for inclusive community outcomes. In a ten-week programme, equity, technology, and data officers gain access to advanced tools and collaborate with experts from top organisations. By the end, participants create actionable strategies to tackle economic disparities and advance equity.
Example: Birmingham, Alabama
Birmingham implemented initiatives to support minority-, women-, and disadvantaged business enterprises (MWDBEs) through the BOLD Funding Program. This initiative fosters economic resilience and provides critical funding to programmes that expand opportunities for MWDBEs, contributing to a more inclusive local economy.
CPI partnered with Bloomberg Philanthropies in 2018 and 2021 to deliver the Mayors Challenge, a competition that inspires cities to develop bold solutions to pressing challenges. Winning cities receive funding and expert support to implement their ideas, fostering innovation and shared learning across the globe.
Through transformative programmes and partnerships, the Centre for Public Impact demonstrates its unwavering commitment to creating a more equitable world. By prioritising gender equity, we can address systemic barriers and build a future where everyone can thrive.
