Alejandra Montoya (she/her/ella)

Senior Associate, North America

Alejandra Montoya is a Senior Associate with the North America team at Centre for Public Impact.

She has been part of the CPI team since 2021.

Alejandra has always had a keen interest in politics and equality. She has a BA in Political Science with a minor in Social and Economic Justice from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Since then, she has done courses in Advanced Equity Facilitation and Racial Equity, which has guided her transition into becoming a facilitator who continually centres equity and liberatory practices. This informs how she shows up in spaces with programme participants and co-workers and develops equity-centred programs for CPI.

Alejandra is passionate about CPI’s North America legitimacy work, focused on embedding equity structures in government.  She has enjoyed working on the Washington Equity programme, which prioritises giving government staff the tools to share power and equitably engage with community members from marginalised communities.

Alejandra’s colleagues say she brings good vibes to spaces, creating person-centred environments.

When she’s not working, Alejandra loves reading fiction books, playing with her cat, taking ballet classes, and traveling.
