Senior Associate, CPI North America
Arthur Schemitz is a Senior Associate with the North America team at the Centre for Public Impact.
He joined the CPI team in 2023.
Arthur has a BA in Gender Studies from Whitman College and an MA in Public Affairs from Princeton University.
Arthur served for four years in the California state government, helping promote electric vehicle market development in Governor Brown’s Office of Business and Economic Development and advocating to strengthen and secure pension funds for public school educators
He has also served as a volunteer tax preparer since 2019 and prepared hundreds of tax returns for low-income taxpayers in California, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington D.C.
Arthur is passionate about CPI’s work to promote equity and legitimacy in government. He has worked on the Innovation Track for the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative, working with city leaders across the US and Canada to develop innovative solutions to their city’s pressing challenges that are created in collaboration with the most impacted residents.
In his leisure time, Arthur enjoys crossword puzzles, public transit, and seeing his neighbourhood cats.
