Senior Associate, Climate Change Initiative
Carina Gormley is a Senior Associate with the Climate Change Initiative at the Centre for Public Impact.
She joined the CPI team in 2021.
Carina holds a BA in Architecture and Urbanism from Yale University, and a MSc in Environment and Sustainability Management from Georgetown University.
Carina applies her background in urban design, public health research, and sustainable business strategy to facilitate improved public service at the local level. She has worked with 25+ cities, as well as a variety of non-profit and philanthropic partners on issues ranging from climate innovation through AI to waste management and youth homelessness.
Carina’s prior work involved assessing indirect impact of programmes on racial equity and economic empowerment in cities; the effects of multi-modal transportation on real and perceived mobility; and the impact of housing security on self management of chronic disease.
At CPI, Carina works across the organisation’s portfolio of climate programmes, supporting cross-department learning, event coordination, and organisational climate strategy. She believes deeply in the power of the public sector and city government to foster collaboration and steward transformative approaches to community flourishing for all.
In her leisure time, Carina loves to host friends for dinner parties and craft nights, engage in her community, and generally be out and about.
