Regional Director, Asia
Dhiviya is the Regional Director for Centre for Public Impact in Asia.
She joined the CPI team in 2023.
Dhiviya David received an MA in Social Work and an Applied MA in Peace and Conflict Studies.
Dhiviya has many years of experience in feminist collectives and groups. She has always felt most free working with others in flexible spaces that are progressive, allow for experimentation and bring together a group of passionate people working for social transformation.
She is inspired by some of the young women that she worked with in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, who were courageous enough to challenge the status quo under dire circumstances.
At CPI, Dhiviya embraces our approaches to action learning, collaboration, and bringing a relational lens to complex social problems, particularly designing interventions close to the community keeping their needs at the centre.
In her leisure time, she enjoys crafts such as crochet, soap making, wood work and DIY projects. A walk in the forest is a great way for her to get offline and feel connected to the outside world.
She has contributed to several publications:
- Training manuals on integrating gender into Cotton production value chains for Better Cotton Initiative
- A booklet on safety for women and girls – Girls Fight back
- Contributed to research for Women in Agriculture : Breaking the Grass Ceiling, Ashok Khandelwal and Shipra Deo
- UNIFEM Discussion paper – Overview of civil societies engagement with women’s control and ownership of productive assets and resources – 2008
