Helen Stevenson (she/her)

Senior Programme Manager / AI Opportunity Fund: Europe Lead

Helen Stevenson is a Senior Programme Manager with the Europe team at Centre for Public Impact. She is the Europe Lead for the AI Opportunity Fund.

She joined the CPI team in 2022.

Helen has always been fascinated by the role of government in supporting marginalised communities—a passion she first explored during her BA in Politics and Economics at the University of Manchester, where she wrote her dissertation on the Good Friday Agreement’s impact on LGBTQ liberation in Northern Ireland.

Passionate about using technology to drive social impact, Helen believes in amplifying overlooked voices, and ensuring innovation is fair and inclusive. Some of her proudest previous projects include helping MSI Reproductive Choices develop a digital strategy for reproductive healthcare access and mentoring UK domestic violence organisations in digital resilience through Comic Relief’s Specialist Support Fund. This work included establishing LovingMe, the UK’s first trans-specific domestic abuse service, in collaboration with the Emily Davison Centre.

Since joining CPI, Helen has supported Google.org funding programmes across Europe. On the Tech for Social Good: Europe Impact Challenge, Helen operationalised a funding model that combined financial support with pro-bono expertise from Google employees, helping organisations focused on economic justice, sustainability, and disinformation make a meaningful community impact.

As the lead for the AI Opportunity Fund: Europe, in partnership with Google.org, Helen works to make AI accessible and beneficial for underserved communities. The Fund supports AI upskilling initiatives that bridge the digital divide and build economic resilience, focusing on groups often excluded from tech advancements. By promoting AI literacy, the Fund helps individuals overcome fears around AI and empowers them to use AI as a tool for personal and community growth.

Outside of work, you’ll find Helen enjoying a game of football or hockey, or exploring the outdoors on long walks with her wife and whippet, Sadie.
