
Global Director, Climate Change Initiative
Josh Sorin is the Global Director with the Climate Change Initiative at Centre for Public Impact.
He joined the CPI team in 2018.
Josh Sorin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Indiana University.
Josh serves as the Global Director for Centre of Public Impact’s Climate Change Initiative, where he leads a global team that supports governments and their partners in accelerating climate action in cities. He has over 13 years of experience designing and launching initiatives that bring together leaders across sectors to tackle ambitious long-term goals.
Prior to his current role, Josh built and led CPI’s City Innovation programme in North America. His team worked with hundreds of local governments worldwide to develop solutions to complex problems.
Before joining CPI, Josh led projects in KPMG’s Advisory practice, where he advised clients on strategy, change management, programme design, innovation, and data/analytics. Outside of his “day jobs”, he co-founded a digital language learning startup and a health-equity focused charity supporting the third-largest public hospital system in the U.S.
Josh specializes in strategy, venture building, organizational growth and business/partnership development. Josh’s topical experience has primarily focused on climate/sustainability, public sector transformation, government healthcare delivery reform, and financial risk management.
His writing has been featured in Bloomberg’s CityLab, US News World & Report, and various other national outlets. He has also published several reports on innovation, organizational transformation, culture building, and public value.
