Lily Payton (she/her/hers)

Senior Associate, North America

Lily Payton is a Senior Associate with the North America team at Centre for Public Impact.

She joined CPI in 2021.

Lily has a BA in International Development with a focus on economic development and Political Science from McGill University in Montréal.

She was an associate Board Member at WINGS Women of Discovery, the only organisation dedicated to providing unrestricted grants to female explorers across the globe. Lily also was an ambassador at UNLEASH, an NGO that brings youth together through human-centred design training to address the UN SDGs.

Lily is passionate about using new methodologies for addressing problems. She says that the best part of a design process takes place during the ideation phase. This couples her two favourite things: working with residents and thinking out of the box.

Lily loves integrating technology into design processes, especially new tech such as AI. This particular intersection is compelling to her as it often results in more streamlined processes for residents, less work for municipal staff, and an overall excitement for creating an effective tool by using new problem-solving methodologies.

Lily finds joy in being outside in all forms, but especially near to the ocean. She also enjoys hiking, learning about regenerative aquaculture, knitting, sauna bathing, visiting the Arctic, and spending time with her partner Spencer.
