Programme Manager, North America
Sam Watson is a Programme Manager with the North America team at Centre for Public Impact.
She joined the CPI team in 2022.
Sam holds a Bachelor Degree in Arts in Sociology with a minor in Spanish from Siena College and a Master Degree in Social Work from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
She entered a Parental Sabbatical to raise her child full-time after a 2-month NICU stay through to the second year of life.
As part of a non-profit organization, she co-managed and strategically grew a national program that centered equity and access for mothers and women of color.
She has an extensive background in non-profit programme and project management, issue advocacy, direct services, and disruption of systems of oppression.
In her work at the North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence, she also spearheaded a statewide LGBTQ anti-domestic violence programme.
At CPI, Sam is passionate about working on earned legitimacy, because it’s focused on naming the oppressive roots of government and it puts the burden on the institution to build trust with the community and not perpetuate harm.
In her leisure time, Sam enjoys women’s sports, coffee, spending time with her family and friends, trash tv, and rest.
