Senior Associate, Communications and Public Relations
Vicky Gomes-Boronat is a Senior Associate for Communications and Public Relations at Centre for Public Impact.
She joined the CPI team in 2024.
Vicky holds dual degrees in Psychology and Broadcast Journalism from the University of Maryland and a Master’s in Communication, Culture & Technology from Georgetown University.
Vicky has used her skills as a volunteer, including to help rescue animals find their forever homes and to restore her family’s generational farmhouse, transforming it into a highly-rated and guest-favourite Airbnb.
As a former journalist, she has had numerous works published, ranging from Supreme Court justice hearings and political breaking news to uplifting stories such as the benefits of adopting versus shopping.
The work Vicky is most proud of is an investigation she conducted into Title IX offices. She discovered issues in her Alma Mater’s handling of sexual misconduct cases and wrote a story on how Title IX offices nationwide manage these cases and report their statistics.
Vicky has worked on several CPI projects, including the Pandemic Solutions Group. CPI organised sessions with various health experts, including former NIH Director Dr. Francis Collins, to discuss key learnings from the pandemic and outline next steps. Vicky created video compilations for this project, which were widely disseminated across CPI’s network.
Outside of work, the things that bring Vicky joy are her plants, her dogs Leo and Cas, her cats Seli and Nyxi, the feeling of sunshine on her skin, bubble tea, and her Pinterest board of a million and one DIY/crafting projects she wants to do.
